Why We Built This Site
North Carolina provides several public routes to justice records, yet each custodian answers a different question. The Cleveland County Sheriff maintains its incident and detention material. The elected Clerk preserves District and Superior Court files, including charges and dispositions. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation keeps the fingerprint-based state repository, while the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction reports prison and community-supervision status. Registry data appears through the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. We organize verified request steps, public tools, fees, and contact details around those separate roles.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of a North Carolina court, law-enforcement office, or state agency. Its role is limited:
- We do not issue certified court records, criminal histories, or rap sheets
- We cannot submit an expunction petition or public-record request for a reader
- We do not run official checks or retrieve a person's government record
- We cannot interpret a charge, recommend a legal strategy, or provide legal advice
- We cannot promise that an agency has not changed an address, fee, schedule, or procedure
Only the responsible office, such as the Sheriff, Clerk, or NCSBI, can provide its official record. The document must come from that custodian.
Search Partners
Outside providers power some search boxes. Each provider controls its own service, results, terms, and prices. A paid signup reached through one of those tools may produce a referral fee that supports this resource. We neither set the provider's charge nor decide what its results contain. Official Cleveland County information should still be confirmed with the government office that created the original record.
